Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the cost management and estimation process for commercial fit out and interior projects. This includes preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents, as well as conducting site visits, managing contracts, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for commercial fit out and interior projects. Ensure accurate forecasting of costs and financial planning.
  • Tender Management: Prepare tender documents, evaluate contractor bids, and participate in contract negotiations. Ensure competitive and fair pricing.
  • Project Financial Management: Monitor project expenditures, manage variations, and ensure financial control throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare regular financial reports and updates for stakeholders.
  • Contract Administration: Administer contracts, manage contractual disputes, and ensure compliance with contractual terms. Maintain accurate records of all contract-related documentation.
  • Site Visits and Inspections: Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, verify measurements, and ensure adherence to project specifications and standards.
  • Client Liaison: Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders. Provide regular updates and address any concerns promptly.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential financial and contractual risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Value Engineering: Analyze and recommend cost-effective solutions without compromising quality and functionality. Implement value engineering principles to optimize project outcomes.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate project documentation, including cost reports, progress reports, and final accounts.


Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the commercial fit out and interiors sector.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam). Familiarity with contract administration software is a plus.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle complex financial and contractual issues.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards. Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations.
