Job Summary: The Quantity Surveyor will play a critical role in managing all aspects of cost management and contractual duties within our commercial flooring projects. This role requires a strong understanding of flooring materials, installation techniques, and the unique challenges of commercial environments. The successful candidate will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for commercial flooring projects. Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that expenditures remain within the approved budget.

  • Tendering and Procurement: Lead the preparation and submission of tenders for new projects. Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes, negotiate contracts, and ensure competitive pricing and quality of materials and services.

  • Contract Administration: Manage contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, including the preparation and negotiation of contract terms, variations, and final accounts. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and manage any disputes that arise.

  • Project Planning and Control: Collaborate with project managers and site teams to develop project schedules, track progress, and identify potential risks. Provide financial insight and recommendations to support effective decision-making.

  • Measurement and Valuation: Conduct accurate site measurements, prepare bills of quantities, and value completed work. Prepare and submit interim and final applications for payment.

  • Cost Reporting: Prepare regular cost reports and financial statements for internal and external stakeholders. Provide analysis on cost variances, forecast final project costs, and advise on potential financial implications.

  • Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring their satisfaction with the project's progress and outcomes.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work complies with industry standards, project specifications, and health and safety regulations. Conduct site visits to verify that installations meet quality expectations.
