Job Title: Site Manager - 64-Bed Commercial Apartment Residential Block

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Manager to oversee the construction of a 64-bed commercial apartment residential block. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a reputable company dedicated to delivering high-quality residential projects on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety: Uphold strict adherence to health and safety regulations, conducting regular site audits and ensuring all staff and subcontractors follow procedures.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and manage site operatives and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and quality control are maintained.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee all aspects of construction, ensuring high-quality workmanship in line with project specifications.
  • Programme Management: Monitor progress against the construction programme, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with the client, project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Procurement & Resources: Coordinate the ordering and delivery of materials, managing resources effectively to avoid delays.
  • Reporting: Maintain detailed daily site records, reporting progress to senior management and addressing any on-site issues.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on residential or commercial apartment blocks, ideally of a similar scale.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety legislation.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and motivate a diverse team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.

Qualifications

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification is essential.
  • CSCS card (Black/Gold card preferred).
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • NVQ Level 6 or equivalent in Construction Management (preferred but not essential).
  • Relevant trade background or degree in Construction Management (desirable).
