Senior Consultant
  • What is your role? And what does it entail?

I’ve recently joined Linsco as a Senior Consultant focusing on permanent white-collar recruitment within the Civils and Utilities sectors. As a slightly new focus for our business, my role is really about building our offering and presence within these sectors, growing both our client and candidate base and building on the successful foundations of other parts of the company.

As a full 360 role, my days include business development, candidate sourcing and lots of relationship building. It can be high pressure and there’s lots to juggle as with any sales-based role, but ultimately, it’s a really rewarding environment to work in.

  • How have you found your first few months at Linsco?

The first few months have flown by, which must be a good indicator that they’ve been enjoyable! There’s been plenty to adapt to and take on board as is always the case with a new role, but my team and the wider business have provided a really welcoming environment which is key to settling in quickly.

I’ve had great support from colleagues and already seen loads of examples of close collaborative working which I think is pivotal in any successful business so I’m really excited to kick on and to build on a great first couple of months.

  • What have you enjoyed most?

I think getting to know the team and settling in so quickly has been a real highlight for me. Having relocated from Southampton to Nottingham midway through the year, there’s been a lot of stress with house moving etc, so having the benefit of a supportive team and being surrounded by a great group of people at work has really helped minimise any extra stresses in my work life in a new role.

I’ve also really enjoyed the challenge of starting to build a new desk after 7 years at my previous company. I think sometimes you need a fresh challenge to reinvigorate yourself, and this has certainly given me the fresh impetus I wanted.

  • Lastly what are your ambitions here at Linsco?

My ambitions at Linsco are to establish a hugely successful white collar perm team in Civils / Utilities and ultimately to grow a team around me off the back of this.

I hope to be a key part of Linsco’s long term growth, helping to shape the future of the company and am enormously excited about the potential within the role.
