Are you an experienced QS or Senior QS with prior experience in large scale civils and infrastructure projects and looking for a fresh opportunity?

We have an exciting new opportunity with our client, an well-established and forward thinking civil engineering contractor operating across the Midlands.

They are looking for an experienced and ambitious Quantity Surveyor to work alongside the managing QS and assume responsibility for the commercial management of a range of projects and schemes.

Key duties:

  • Responsible for providing effective financial and contractual support on our client's projects.
  • Manage efforts to maximise profitability by identifying ways to reduce costs or add value to projects.
  • Arrange and oversee all subcontract work packages within contracts, liaising with the Estimating Team to negotiate best possible rates.
  • Manage the quantum spend of all subcontractors by performing monthly measures against claimed invoices.
  • Provide support to the Site Agents and Engineers by identifying varied and additional works, as well as assisting with the production of final accounts.
  • Maintain records and produce a monthly measure for each project.
  • Produce monthly reports for the Contracts Manager as well as reconciling and price variation orders.

Requirements:

  • Extensive prior experience on civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
  • Qualification in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
  • Working towards or already have chartered membership of a recognised institution would be advantageous.
  • A good working knowledge NEC, JCT or ICE contracts.
