Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to oversee and manage construction projects valued between £5m and £10m. The ideal candidate will lead project teams, ensuring that all work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the site and report to Contracts Manager on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery:
Oversee all on-site operations, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and the internal project team to meet deadlines and project milestones.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Enforce and maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Team Leadership:
Manage site personnel, subcontractors, and labour resources efficiently.
Lead daily briefings and ensure effective communication between all parties on-site.
Quality Control:
Ensure all work adheres to design specifications, building regulations, and company standards.
Conduct quality checks and address defects promptly.
Act as the on-site representative for the company, maintaining good relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
Provide regular progress updates and address any concerns.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records, including progress reports, site diaries, and health and safety documentation.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential:
Proven experience managing construction projects in the £5m-£10m range.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
First Aid at Work certification.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead and motivate teams.
Desirable:
Relevant degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Chartered membership of a professional body (e.g., CIOB, RICS).
